Captain Cook Bridge bearing replacement works involved extensive maintenance, including the lifting of the bridge deck to replace 6 bearings using 500-tonne jacks. These works, which occurred over an 18-month period, also included strengthening the structure with box girder webs and post-tensioned bars. The project was managed with unique temporary works platforms to access confined spaces, requiring some materials to be manually transported, and included weekend closures to minimize traffic disruption.

Time Lapse Services

Blackbox was engaged to document complex works carried out within confined spaces on the Captain Cook Bridge, a challenging environment where visibility and communication were limited. To overcome this, we deployed a combination of time-lapse cameras, on-site video production, and 3D overlays to clearly capture and communicate each stage of the project. This integrated approach allowed stakeholders to visualise progress, understand the intricacies of the work.
