High Risk Safety Monitoring

As part of Buildcorp’s dedication to safety and their ‘1, 2, 3 It’s On Me’ initiative, they approached us with a unique challenge. Our goal was to design and implement a custom safety monitoring solution and deploy it on building maintenance units (boats) for one of Sydney’s tallest buildings.
The system was developed to actively monitor mast climbers and team members operating in high-risk areas, providing real-time visibility and improving on-site safety. Working closely with Buildcorp, we engineered a tailored solution that seamlessly integrated into their safety framework, helping their team to reduce risk, respond faster and reduce operational overheads.
Project Challenges
The project presented several unique challenges. With strict weight and size restrictions in place, we had to design a compact, lightweight system that wouldn’t add unnecessary load to the building maintenance units. Achieving continuous recording, battery backup and reliable live streaming over a cellular network added another layer of complexity, requiring careful configuration and testing to maintain stable connectivity at height. Mounting the equipment securely to the mast climbers demanded precise engineering and custom fittings to ensure both safety and durability.
To further enhance safety, we integrated an Overwatch camera system, giving Buildcorp’s team the ability to remotely control and monitor each unit in real time. This provided an extra layer of visibility and rapid response capability in the event of an emergency, delivering a robust, purpose-built solution aligned with Buildcorp’s commitment to proactive site safety.
